How slow is too slow on Connect Fibre?

Connect Fibre's typical package speed in our deal pool is around 1000 Mbps. If you're consistently getting below 70 % of that, the line is under-performing, start with the troubleshooter (restart router, ethernet, master socket) before opening a provider ticket.

Why is my Connect Fibre broadband slower than advertised?

WiFi is the suspect more often than the line itself, range, interference, an aging router. Test via ethernet to rule that out before assuming it's a line fault. If the wired speed is still well below advertised, you're entitled to an investigation under Ofcom's voluntary code.

Can I switch from Connect Fibre if my speed isn't fixed?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Under Ofcom's voluntary code of practice, if Connect Fibre can't restore your speed inside 30 days you can leave penalty-free even if you're mid-contract. New-customer pricing across the market is usually 30-40 % cheaper than out-of-contract rates, so switching often pays back inside 2-3 months.
