Run the test on a laptop plugged into the router with a cable. Over wifi you'll often see less than the line is giving you.
Every TalkTalk package goes up £4 a month in April 2027 and again in April 2028, so the starting price isn't what you'll pay for the whole contract.

TalkTalk has signed Ofcom's broadband speed code. That means TalkTalk gave you a minimum guaranteed speed when you joined. If your wired speed stays below it and TalkTalk can't fix it within 30 days, you can leave without an exit fee.
TalkTalk sells over Openreach and CityFibre, depending on the address. Who sends an engineer depends on which network reaches your home, and TalkTalk books them either way. Source

Why is my TalkTalk broadband slow?
Run the test on a laptop plugged into the router with a cable. Over wifi you'll often see less than the line is giving you. If the wired result is fine, the line is doing its job and the slowdown is in your home: the router's position, other devices or an old wifi standard. If the wired result is low too, switch the router off at the wall for 30 seconds, test again, then report it.
